Permanent Relief Support Worker - Canterbury

Role Responsibility

Canterbury Adult short breaks unit provides a support service for Adults with Learning Disabilities. The service is looking for flexible staff to come and work alongside an experienced team in order to provide cover to meet business needs, covering staff sickness, training and/or annual leave. There will be a variety of shifts offered ,consisting of early, late, sleep in support, weekends and/or bank holidays.

You will receive an induction and full support to help you succeed in this role. 

You must be committed to empowering individuals to make informed choices about their care needs, activities in house and out in the community.

You will be assisting with all aspects of personal care while observing dignity and respect and encouraging independence skills.

You must be able to work on your own and as part of a team.

You must have the ability to record, report and monitor on a daily basis.

A willingness to undertake a Diploma Level 3 plus mandatory training and further development is a requirement for this role.

Canterbury Adult Support Unit is located close to the city centre.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
