Permanent Relief - Catering Assistant - Shorne Woods Country Park

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Kent County Council, Country Parks team who provide leisure, educational, events, venue hire and café services across 9 Country Parks in Kent. 


We seek permanent relief catering assistants for one of our key sites; Shorne Country Park. 
Shorne Woods Country Park is a 292 acre public open space with an on site visitor centre containing toilets, a gift shop, a function room and a very busy café. 
The café caters for visitors with hot and cold food, snacks and drinks as well as a waffle and milkshake and ice cream kiosk & pizza oven in the summer months. We also cater for functions in our venue hire space for business meetings and private parties.
You will be expected to hold or be willing to work towards a Level 2 Hygiene certificate.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with experience in customer service and catering preferred.  The individual needs to be organised with strong customer service skills to ensure that visitors to the parks receive a quality café experience.  You will report to the Catering Services Manager who is responsible for the four Country Park café sites.

The role available is a permanent relief zero-hour contract. Shifts will vary between 9am to 5.30pm on a scheduled basis, adjusting seasonally. 

 

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
