Role Responsibility

The KCC Transportation Department has recently been restructured and a number of new roles have opened up to work within the Traffic Management Team. We are looking for a motivated individual who is keen to demonstrate their experience in data analysis, traffic and performance management.

The role will support the Senior Network Performance Manager to undertake analysis and review of activities and occupations on Kent's road network, to identify performance issues, using various data sources, and propose potential solutions to help tackle them.

The role will engage with a variety of stakeholders to understand network performance issues, particularly where congestion occurs, public transport punctuality is impacted or roadworks severely impact the road network. The role will work closely with other members of the Traffic Management Team, as well as other highway teams, and seek funding opportunities to enable delivery of solutions/mitigations that will tackle network performance issues.

These full-time roles will be able to utilise hybrid working with a mix of working from the office and from home. The office base would be Ashford or Aylesford Highway Depot, which can be agreed with the successful candidate.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
