This exciting opportunity is for a Team Manager Position within the Kent MCA/DoLS Service.
You will be working in a county wide service alongside another Team Manager, reporting to the Head of Service. Managers within the DoLS function hold accountability for the efficient working and performance of the team, ensuring adherence to legislation and the policies and procedures of the council.
Our team managers utilise agreed monitoring and review methods to ensure demand, deliver and capacity is robust. The new manager will utilise a range of resources including dashboards, performance reports, staff supervision and workforce reports to develop the team’s knowledge base and expertise. This ensures that services are delivered and meet the standards required.
You will:
- Ensure that BIA/Senior Practitioner are performing to a high standard.
- Devise systems that support the service and MCA/DoLS to deliver quality
- Support and manage staff through supervision and good conversations
- Ensure that the service is delivered in a cost-effective manner
- Offer expert advice to all stakeholders in relation to statutory duties.
- Work closely with stakeholders, including health partners and care settings.
- Have a substantial working knowledge of Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, Human Rights Act, and Social Care legislation.
As a manager within a Countywide team, you will enjoy the benefits of KCC Flexible working arrangements, with the requirement to travel to various locations across Kent at times. The role is responsible for the day to day management of the Kent MCA DOLS Service, which is currently based in Maidstone.
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service and a relevant professional qualification (Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy or Chartered Psychologist) as well as up to date registration with the appropriate professional body.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
