Lived Experience Expert - Families

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an ‘Expert by Experience’ to join the Kent & Medway Integrated Care Board’s Designated Key Worker Programme, to professional support to the following programmes of work:

  1. Designated Key Worker Programme,
  2. The Neuro Developmental Assessment Pathway and
  3. The Children and Young People’s Crisis and Complex Care Programme.

We are looking for an expert by experience who can use their own experience and help gather the experience of other families in consideration of key aspects of the above programmes.  In this role you will be instrumental in ensuring the programmes are taking family centric approaches in their development, delivery and that information regarding each programme is co-produced and accessible for families and young people.  

What are Experts by Experience?

Experts by Experience are people who have personal experience of using services. They can also be a carer or family member for someone who uses (or has used) mental health services or social care services.

We are looking for an expert who has experience in young people’s mental health and/or neurodevelopmental issues and who can demonstrate the ability to think strategically and represent the needs of a wide variety of families.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
