Family Group Conference Coordinator
Role Responsibility
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Family Group Coordinator post in South East Kent.
The successful candidate will work with families and their networks, bring them together to make safe plans for their children. The team covers South East Kent (Dover, Folkestone, Ashford, Thanet, Canterbury). Work is completed where the family lives and is family led. Direct work with families and children is an advantage.
Applicants will be fully trained and supported in learning the role.
Candidates are required to have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in relevant field such as Social Work, teaching, mediation, youth work etc. (If relying on Social Work qualification you will be required to be registered with Social Work England) and have a varied experience of working with children and families at times of distress and conflict. Ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is essential.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
