Kent Enablement Recovery Service (KERS) Worker

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Role Responsibility

Kent Enablement and Recovery Service (KERS) offers a flexible place to work with opportunities for career progression. You will be well supported by the whole team and beyond, to help you succeed in your role and deliver high quality interventions to members of the public in Kent.

KERS works with people experiencing mental health difficulties, to address social care needs and achieve positive outcomes, over a short period of time (up to 12 weeks). This is achieved through a process of enablement. The service aims to support people to maximise their wellbeing and quality of life, in a way that suits them.

An awareness of mental health needs and how they impact individuals is essential, as is knowledge of how to access local community services and resources, as well as being able to offer practical advice to service users in liaising with official agencies, although training will be offered to support you to meet this requirement.

As part of a dynamic team, you will work in partnership with people referred to the service using a person-centred approach, to agree, plan, deliver, and review enablement plans (care plans) which are focused on meeting identified social care needs.

You will be required to demonstrate good written, computer, and numeracy skills, to assist in completing records and reports as required for the role.

It is essential to hold or being willing to undertake, a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care. If you need to undertake the level 3 Diploma, then this will be funded by KCC, with paid time off work for studying.

The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is also a requirement of the role. The role includes some remote working and working from home so you will need the ability to work autonomously without regular daily access to an office base.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
