Highway Design Project Manager
Role Responsibility
KCC has recently been successful in securing funding for numerous active travel related projects. This role would give you the opportunity to work on high profile and exciting new active travel schemes.
We are looking for an individual with a proven track record in the design of highway improvements and the delivery of high quality services in the highway sector. Working within the Road Safety & Active Travel Group, the role will be making the highway safer for all, tackling congestion and assisting in supporting growth.
The role forms a part of a cross cutting team to investigate, design or commission and deliver active travel related projects and developer funded schemes.
We work as a whole-council, putting our customers at the heart of everything we do so you will need to demonstrate that you are customer focused. The role requires strong communication skills and will involve working closely with our Members and District/Borough/Parish Councillors. The ability to actively project manage and be accountable for delivering schemes on time and to budget is essential.
You must be well organised, numerate, attentive to detail and have excellent IT skills as well as having excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
You need to be flexible, adaptable, enjoy working in a team, be able to manage competing demands by careful prioritisation and switch between tasks. You also need to be able to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision.
Whilst there is no requirement to drive, the successful candidate must have the ability to travel to various locations within the County of Kent and meet clients as required.
