HeadStart Participation Support Worker

Role Responsibility

HeadStart Kent is recruiting a Participation Support Worker, who will work directly with young people at SpeakOut groups, Kent Youth Voice and other activities for young people. The post holder will take a lead role in developing the Kent Youth Voice social media presence with young people and support with creating web content for young people.

You will be passionate about young people’s participation and coproducing services, activities and training with young people. You will be able to quickly build relationships with young people while maintaining professional boundaries.

The post holder will require knowledge and practical experience in using social media including Instagram, Twitter & Facebook and developing appropriate posts & graphics for engaging young people.

Working with the HeadStart Participation Team you will be confident in delivering training to groups of young people both in person and virtually and seeking opportunities to engage more young people in the HeadStart programme.

This role will involve regular evening and weekend work, including overnight residential activities. 

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
