Head of the Regional Adoption Agency (RAA) South East

Role Responsibility

This is an exciting opportunity for the role of Head of Service for the Adoption Partnership South East, a partnership between the London Borough of Bexley, Kent County Council and Medway County Council. You will manage an established Regional Adoption Agency and lead on providing a high-quality adoption service across the region, with a clear vision of securing good outcomes for children, adopters and those affected by adoption. The role reports into the Adoption Partnership Executive Board. 

The role will have an office base within Kent, alongside the option of some hybrid working. The ability to travel to Bexley and Medway offices is essential. As part of the role, you will be part of the Corporate Parenting senior leadership team in Kent and be a champion for our children and young people in care.

Candidates will need to have exceptional communication skills to engage with other RAA’s to champion adoption practice and contribute to the strategic planning and delivery at both a local and national level. The role also includes acting as the Agency Decision Maker for the adoption panel.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service and to registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.

As part of the interview process for this role you may be required to complete additional testing.
