Head of Resource Management and Circular Economy
Role Responsibility
Are you ready to redefine waste in Kent?
Are you ready to boost the green economy in Kent?
We are looking for an inspiring and ambitious leader to catalyse the circular economy in Kent by minimising waste and maximising reuse and recycling across the county. You would lead the high-performing teams that make up the Resource Management and Circular Economy group and be responsible for services that achieve excellent value for money for our residents, whilst driving continued improvements and innovation to reduce environmental impacts and spark new opportunities for green growth across Kent.
This group has an impressive track record, achieving significant financial savings through intelligence-led commissioning of services, a range of policies at recycling centres which reduced waste volumes received by 45% over 3 years, and by creating novel partnerships with charities to embed the reuse of items.
The teams have attracted and invested £2.6m in small businesses to help them transition to a lower carbon economy, commissioned an anaerobic digestion plant which produces energy and agricultural fertiliser from Kent’s food waste and won a national award for excellence for the design of a new recycling centre.
Now is the time to join the leadership team of the Environment and Circular Economy Division following a recent redesign to increase our capacity and the impact of our work. You would inspire our colleagues and wide-ranging partners to achieve their collective potential and strive for the best outcomes for our residents and the environment from the £80m budget you manage and the vital services, contracts and infrastructure you oversee.
This role is an incredible opportunity to shape a more ambitious and sustainable future for Kent’s economy, environment and residents.
