Finance Operations Officer

Role Responsibility

Community Learning and Skills are seeking to recruit a Finance Operations Officer to join our fast-paced and exciting organisation. Community Learning and Skills is an organisation within Kent County Council that delivers a broad range of Adult Education opportunities across the county. It is one of the largest local authority training providers in the country and has a strong reputation for high quality education.

You will work in the Finance Operations team under the Finance and Funding function assisting in ensuring that Community Learning and Skills can fulfil the educational needs of adults in the county through robust and high-quality business processes. Responsibilities will include the reconciliation of course fee income, course transfers and refunds, monitoring the standing order database, the chasing of entitlement to concessions and debt recovery.

What we need from you:

  • You will be organised, efficient and able to adhere to deadlines.
  • You will have a financial background with good numeracy skills.
  • You will have a flexible approach to work with the ability to switch between tasks.
  • You will have effective communication skills to consult with our learners, Curriculum teams and colleagues based at our Adult Education Centres across Kent.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

At present, our finance team is working from home but are normally based at the Sittingbourne Adult Education site.

Contract type: Full time 37 hours per week, permanent
