Family Network Social Work Assistant

Role Responsibility

Fixed Term (or secondment) Full Time  - Until 31st March 2025.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for fixed term posts for ‘Family Network’ Social Work Assistants (FNSWA), across the county. The opportunity will be for one FNSWA to work with each Children’s Social Work Team on their duty week.

This is an excellent development opportunity to increase your skillset and knowledge of Restorative Approaches, relationship based practice and achieving best outcomes for children and their families. You will be part of an exciting and innovative project and have real opportunities to look at how we support children to remain within the care of their wider networks, reduce the risk they face and contribute to improving their outcomes.

Successful applicants will sit alongside Children's Social Work Teams providing rapid response family lead meetings for duty cases only. You will be working alongside families at a time of crisis and support them to identify and strengthen safety plans and reduce the likelihood of children experiencing entry into care, by working with them in a restorative way to identify solutions within the network.

You will be joining a service who is committed to achieving the best outcomes for Children, Young People, and their Family Networks. You will receive support and be managed by the Social Connections Team who will also provide you with formal supervision, ad hoc support, and restorative approaches training. You will be supervised by the Social Connections Service.
