Education Safeguarding Support Officer

Role Responsibility

Do you have a passion for working in a role which helps to safeguard children whilst utilising your knowledge of finance and administration skills?

If so, this role could be for you. We are looking for an experienced business support officer with specific financial knowledge and skills, ideally with experience in education, to join our friendly, dynamic and supportive team.

You will need to be highly organised, have the ability to prioritise work and be flexible in order to meet the needs of the team. Good administrative skills, excellent knowledge of computer systems and confidence in working in an income generating environment are essential.

You will have experience in finance and will be responsible for overseeing all of the financial aspects of the service’s work, ensuring accurate records, timely invoicing, and handling delegate queries related to finance and debt recovery. You will also support the Head of Service to manage the Education Safeguarding Service's budget, forecasting monthly income, troubleshooting discrepancies, and assessing the need for additional commissioned work.

Alongside the financial aspects of the role, you will provide direct administration support to the Head of Service and work closely with the Training and Development Manager. You will have direct line management responsibility of administration staff who support the safeguarding aspects of the service’s work, including the statutory child death and domestic homicide review processes and supporting education providers across the County in meeting their statutory responsibilities.

Support from team members and regular supervision will be provided, as well as training that will support you both professionally and personally.
