Director of Operational Integrated Children’s Services
Role Responsibility
We’re making a difference in Kent.
Can you inspire and lead our teams to help children and young people live their lives to the full?
This is an opportunity to join an Outstanding authority in a recently created role where you will build on our strengths, and drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Reporting to our DCS, you will lead and develop the strategic and operational delivery of children’s services; this will include social work and preventative services, the operational delivery of front-line services from open access and early help, through to permanent care and adoption, across a population of 1.8million residents with distinct geographies and communities which ensures a varied workload and makes every day different.
You’ll be tasked with taking Outstanding as a foundation; in the face of challenging financial circumstances that persist across the public sector, to be genuinely innovative in considering how children’s needs can be best met and continually improved.
This role therefore calls for a social care leader who has both operational and strategic experience of delivering Children in Need, Child Protection, and / or Corporate Parenting services.
And as part of Kent County Council’s senior management team, the ability to work corporately and with a wide range of stakeholders to drive sustainable improvement will be required for success.
In return you will join a directorate and a leadership team that are recognised as being highly collegiate and supportive, where services are child-centric and excel at enabling children and young people to realise their full potential; you will find established teams that are performing well, yet are keen to achieve even more.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join us at the forefront of implementing improved ways of working together with the people we support and our key partners, to achieve our shared aims.
If you have the right experience, skills and energy to make our vision happen, contact us or arrange a confidential conversation with our consultants at Penna: Carol.Coyle@penna.com / 07500 887 849 or Andrew.Tromans@penna.com / 07805 226 301.
