Curriculum Leader: Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) Reception Centres and Children’s Homes
Role Responsibility
We are currently recruiting for two, exciting new, part-time, roles for a Curriculum Leader to work across KCC teams. Whilst your line management will sit within CLS, your responsibilities will be to support and manage ‘Education Officers’ and the delivery of ESOL across the expanding range of Children’s Homes and Reception Centres across Kent. The Children’s Homes will house young people aged 15-16, and the Reception Centres, young people aged 16-17.
You will work closely with both teams to ensure the young people start to develop language confidence and skills during the short time they are in the centres. The role will also include teaching cover for Education Officer sickness and leave.
Applicants will have management qualifications and/or experience, as well as experience of supporting and driving high quality provision. Experience of working with UASC/asylum seekers/refugees would be beneficial.
Applicants will be flexible and solution-focused, have excellent interpersonal skills, and be both pro-active and innovative.

As part of a hybrid working environment, a significant part of the working week could be spent in different settings across the area, as well as home based.
This role is subject to holding a Full UK Driving Licence – The Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments so whilst this job requires the jobholder to drive your application will still be considered if you are unable to drive due to a disability.
