Virtual School Kent - Deputy Head
Role Responsibility
Virtual School Kent are seeking a Deputy Head to join our friendly and hardworking support team. The main duties of the post holder will include being responsible for the operational line management of an integrated team of multi-agency staff to improve outcomes for children in care, care leavers and children with a social worker by providing an enhanced service with a ‘team around the child/young person’ and/or ‘team around the school/provider’ approach, ensuring statutory duties and best practice are met, particularly in relation to the health and education of children in care and care leavers. Identifying areas of development and challenging practice will be a key part of this role.
You should have:
- Recent and relevant experience of senior leadership within a school or education setting
- Relevant experience of working with children in care and care leavers in a school or post 16 environment
- Relevant experience of managing and developing partnerships in a multi-agency or multi-disciplinary environment
- Demonstrable experience of monitoring standards of educational planning and practice in order to raise standards and develop quality practice
- The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is essential.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
