Country Parks Warden

Role Responsibility

The North and West Kent Country Parks team require a part-time Country Park Warden to maintain the site and its facilities in a clean, safe and attractive state and to assist and guide visitors. Duties will include cleaning, litter picking, collating car parking fees and general repairs.

Split duty will be worked at weekends, two on Saturdays (three on Sundays and Bank Hols).

You will work alternate weeks, 25 hours per week (summer) and 23 hours per week (winter), including Monday to Sunday. Working 3 hours per day Monday-Thursday and two hours on a Friday (the hours before dusk) and in the summer 5 hours on a Saturday and 6 hours on a Sunday and in winter 4 hours on a Saturday and 5 on a Sunday.

The weekend visits require you to open and close the park so will include multiple visits to the site.

You will be reliable and have a positive attitude towards customer care together with a flexible attitude to working hours. An ability to attend the site at short notice is required.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
