Role Responsibility
Sunrise Children’s Centre offers short breaks for children and young people with Disabilities, some of whom have additional needs, including behaviours that challenge and complex health needs.
We are seeking a part-time cook for 15 hours per week, to prepare and plan meals within nutritional and dietary guidelines, ensuring meals are cooked and served in a timely manner following safe food hygiene standards.
You will be asked to ensure the efficient running of the kitchen, complying with Health & Safety requirements, checking equipment and ordering supplies.
A Level 3 qualification in Food Safety is required. Additional training will be provided, and you need to be willing to attend training to fulfill your role.
The post includes working a 4 week rolling rota, working alternate weekends, and evening work till 6 pm.
You must be able to manage the stock of food that we keep within the unit, carrying out stock rotation and ordering of what is needed.

This post involves working closely with children and is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
