Role Responsibility

Meadowside, in Deal is a residential service offering short breaks for people with a learning, physical disability and/or autism and can have up to 10 people staying at the service.

This post is 28 hours per week.

We are seeking a second cook to assist in the preparation of nutritious meals including modifying meals to meet individuals needs.  The role will include working with the people we support, teaching basic skills and including them in the preparation of meals and snacks.

You will be asked to ensure the efficient running of the kitchen, complying with Health and Safety requirements, checking equipment and ordering supplies.

You will be required to have a level 2 qualification in Food Safety and have or be willing to work towards a catering qualification.

In return we will offer you a comprehensive induction, supervision and additional training to enable you to fulfil your role.

The post includes working some weekends, and evening work.

This is role is based in Deal, Kent, England.  All applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

This post involves working closely with people 16 years and over and is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

Interviews will take place on the 20th September and may include an exercise to demonstrate your knowledge and skills in the role.
