An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Kinship Assessment Service for a Kinship Initial Enquiries Advisor to support the function and activities of the duty service within the three assessment teams. 

You  will be responsible for communicating and providing information to families and social workers making referrals about the processes and policies of becoming a kinship carer, monitoring referrals as they come through to the team and their progression through the assessment process. Recording information and keeping track of the work undertaken will be essential in helping to ensure service development and meeting the business need. 

As a result you will need an understanding of the legislative and policy frameworks in regards to Fostering and Special Guardians, have strong administrative and IT skills and the ability to collate and manage data. You will need to have the ability to prioritise your work in a fast paced environment and know how to handle highly sensitive and confidential information. 

The post can offer flexible working arrangements with your main base being at Kroner House and flexibility to work from other Kent offices and home working. You should therefore enjoy working to a high standard both independently whilst working remotely and as part of an effective team. You will be joining a Service which is committed to achieving the best outcomes for children and young people, who are creative and innovative in their practice and who strive for excellence.  

 This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
