Compliance Officer

Role Responsibility

Infrastructure’s FacilitiesTeam has an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Officer as part of a newly formed Compliance Team. Providing day to day operational specialist advice with regards to statutory compliance activities across the KCC corporate and school managed estates.

Your focus will be to provide expert advice on statutory compliance related issues, including but not limited to Asbestos, Legionella and Fire Safety issues to the FM & Infrastructure teams and other stakeholders. Advising on what the statutory obligations are, ensuring that the authority meets its legal duties and best practice requirements. Investigating, then reporting on any incidents where statutory compliance guidance and regulations have been breached, providing clear actions to be taken to resolve those issues and monitor the outcome.

Manage, and develop the compliance reporting mechanisms for the authority with particular focus on the higher risk sites and regulated services to ensure the authority discharges its legal duties and can evidence this to Regulating Bodies, including HSE, local enforcement authorities, CQC and Ofsted.

When required review risk assessments and premises procedures for specified FM / property services to mitigate risk and implement safe practices and procedures.

Communicate with stakeholders, managers disseminating information on subject matter and providing clear written reports.  You will need to be solution focussed, and able to work on your own initiative within your expert subject matter.

This role will be based at Sessions House, Maidstone with travel across the estate as required to meet business needs. 

This role is subject to holding a Full UK Driving Licence – The Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments so whilst this job requires the jobholder to drive your application will still be considered if you are unable to drive due to a disability.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
