Community Safety Support Officer

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our multi-agency Kent Community Safety Team on a part-time basis providing high level administrative and secretarial support to assist in the smooth running and day-to-day functioning of the team. 

The Kent Community Safety Team consists of staff from Kent County Council, Kent Police and Kent Fire and Rescue Service and you will be supporting all three agencies in the co-ordination, development and implementation of community safety strategies and initiatives.

Educated to NVQ 2-3 / GCSE (or equivalent) you will undertake a wide range of administrative tasks and have excellent organisation, numeracy and communication skills. You will be computer literate with an eye for detail to produce accurate work.

You should have experience of working within an office environment in an administrative support role and be confident in performing office duties including arranging meetings, managing mailboxes, undertaking procurement and taking minutes as required.  You will be able to work well within a busy team dealing confidently with non-routine tasks, prioritising work and demonstrating flexibility.

Initially you will be working from home, with appropriate IT equipment provided.  In the future your main office base will be Maidstone Fire Station with the potential for some continued home-working and on occasion, a need to work from other locations as required including Invicta House, County Hall. We are happy to talk flexible working.
