Community Safety Officer
Role Responsibility
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Kent County Council’s Community Safety Unit as a Community Safety Officer. The post holder will join a busy team and take a lead on the County Council’s community safety work in developing partnerships with other agencies and organisations as well as working with teams within the council to promote community safety and support the delivery of strategies associated with the Kent Community Safety Partnership.
The role is based in a multi-agency team working jointly with Kent Police and Kent Fire and Rescue Service. You will be required to form and develop relationships with the local district / borough Community Safety Partnerships across the county; take a lead on coordinating and delivering initiatives to support the community safety priorities and themes identified within the Kent Community Safety Agreement; research and prepare reports to facilitate sharing of expertise, knowledge and good practice; and provide support and guidance as required by partners and colleagues.
You will have good verbal and written communication skills and an ability to deal confidently with people and non-routine tasks. You will have experience of working in community safety and/or multi-agency settings and experience of working in an office environment with demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Office.
The role will involve a mixture of working from home and in an office, with the main office base at Invicta House, Maidstone. The role also involves attendance at events and meetings across the county both in person and virtually. We are happy to talk flexible working.
