Commissioner
Role Responsibility
Domestic Abuse is a heinous crime, leaving victims and their families often misplaced and vulnerable. DA is under reported and, across the country support for victims can be inconsistent and patchy. After years of campaigning, the Domestic Abuse Act received Royal Assent last April, giving Local Authorities new statutory duties for providing services to victims and their families within safe accommodation. This ground-breaking legislation (and associated funding) means Local Authorities can move towards creating equity of service for victims as well a more robust and well understood offer for children who have witnessed domestic violence.
Kent County Council are seeking a Commissioner to strengthen its team to support Commissioning activities relating to the implementation of the Domestic Abuse Act and wider Domestic Abuse agenda.
Successful candidates will work with internal and external stakeholders as well as Providers of Domestic Abuse services, to help shape the provision for victims and their families.
The technical requirements for these roles can be found within the Job Specifications, however, KCC is looking for individuals who:
- Can work autonomously, and deliver at pace
- Are passionate about making a difference in this area
- Are creative, dynamic thinkers
- Are competent self-starters with strong relationship skills.
Interviews will take place on 21st and 22nd April and may, according to the specific role require candidates to undertake some competency-based tests.
