Care worker - Westbrook House

Role Responsibility

Westbrook House Integrated Care Centre are looking to recruit to three Permanent Part Time Care Worker positions:

Post 1 26.25 hours per week
Post 2 24.5 hours per week
Post 3 21 hours per week

Hours will be worked over a 4 week rota.

The service has 30 beds across two units offering provision of various services, ranging from rehabilitation and enablement services through to respite, assessment, and day care services for older adults and those who are living with dementia.

You should have experience in health and social care, demonstrate high levels of person-centred care and have excellent communication and recording skills. You should be able to interact positively and effectively with service-users, colleagues, carer’s and professionals.  You must be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team, and be committed to maximizing the independence, choice, rights, and the inclusion of older people. 

You must be flexible, reliable, and willing to work a rota which will include early and late shifts, weekends and bank holidays. You should have a Diploma/NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care or demonstrate a willingness to undertake this qualification, and all other mandatory training that will be essential for the role.

Shifts are from 07.00 – 14.30 or 14.00 – 22.00.

You will need to complete a full induction programme.

In line with government legislation, all colleagues who work in a CQC registered care home or will need to attend such a setting as a fundamental part of their role must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This role has been deemed in scope of this legislation and therefore to be considered for the role you must confirm on application you are fully vaccinated, or that you are exempt. Evidence of vaccination or exemption will be required as part of the pre-employment checks KCC will undertake on you.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
