Business Support Officer

Role Responsibility

Our team has a vacancy for a full-time Business Support Officer, supporting Youth services. This role is key to providing professional support to Youth Workers supporting young people and families in the Canterbury district. We are looking for someone with a calm and organised approach who would like to make a positive contribution.

You will need to demonstrate excellent organisation and communication skills. You must be able to proactively manage your workload and support the wider team, whilst responding to urgent requests and deadlines. You will often be the first point of contact for our service and need to be confident in liaising with families, colleagues, and professionals within a multi-agency environment.

We are looking for someone with administrative experience and who is confident dealing with a variety of responsibilities and using a range of IT packages. You will be responsible for handling sensitive information, checking and recording data, as well as liaising with colleagues to arrange a variety of meetings.

The role is varied and interesting and we can offer opportunities for personal training and development within the service. You will be part of a wider East Kent team offering support to colleagues and families from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and 10:00am to 6pm Thursday. The nature of the role will require a willingness to work flexibly to support the delivery of services and the requirements of practitioners.

The post is currently based at the Whitstable Youth Hub, but we are working flexibly across both home and office and all equipment to enable you to undertake the job is provided.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
