Business Support Officer

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Officer in Fostering Review Team within the Kent Fostering Service.  This is a permanent full-time position based at Kroner House incorporating flexible working.

You will have good working knowledge of MS applications including Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Teams.  You will need to have good experience in creating and maintaining Excel Spreadsheets and confidence using database applications.   You will demonstrate the ability to multi-task, have excellent diary management skills and have a confident telephone manner.  You will need to possess a high standard of spoken and written English.

Working within a confidential environment you will have the ability to take meeting minutes.  You will have strong administrative and IT skills and the ability to collate and manage data.  You will use your initiative to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines in a highly demanding environment.  You will need to have the confidence and ability to deal with a variety of multi-disciplinary professionals on a range of matters and the ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information.  You should enjoy working as part of an effective team but also work independently to a high standard whilst working remotely.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
