Business Support Officer - Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking (UAS) Children's Service

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Administrator to support the Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking (UAS) Children’s Service. You will be supporting a team of social workers and support staff that are committed to providing high quality social work services to unaccompanied asylum seeking children across Kent, working closely with our multi-agency partners as part of the age assessment team and UASC team.

As Business support, you will work closely with the Team Manager and social workers to deliver and improve services for unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, with a clear focus on effective liaison with local partners such as interpreting services and accompanying adults. You will provide an effective administrative support to the Senior Admin Officer and UASC Coordinator including maintaining and updating spreadsheets, management of room booking and interpreter bookings.

You will be able to evidence good leadership skills and a proven track record for delivering excellent admin support.

This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
