Business Support Officer - Practitioner Support

Role Responsibility

Fixed term for 9 months - Maternity cover

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and organised Business Support Officer to join the Youth Justice Service (Central Team) on maternity cover . You will be working as part of the Youth Justice team providing administrative support to assist in the smooth running of the service. If you’re passionate about helping to improve the outcomes of the children of Kent, if you’re a quick learner and able to work at pace, we’d love to hear from you.  

You will be working alongside our Practice Improvement and Development Team, focussing on the work of Victim Voice. You will liaise with front line professionals, volunteers, other local authorities, and Police forces and will therefore be someone with excellent organisation and communication skills. You must be able to proactively manage your workload whilst responding to urgent requests and deadlines.  You will have strong administrative and IT skills and the ability to collate and manage data. You will also need to demonstrate a confident manner in liaising with the public, professionals, and organisations, acting as a contact point for the service. The work is interesting, varied and demanding, and we need someone with a calm and organised approach who can make a positive contribution to the success of the team. We are passionate and concerned about your potential and aptitude for learning and are willing to build on any skills necessary.

You will have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and be able to demonstrate good communication skills whilst working under pressured time frames. You will have the ability to work under your own initiative in a demanding environment.

This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

Hybrid working expected, with the office base being Invicta House.
