The Kent PRU and Attendance Service (KPAS) is part of Kent County Council’s Children, Young People and Education directorate. KPAS works with a wide range of schools and agencies with the core aim of promoting regular school attendance and reducing suspension and permanent exclusions experienced by pupils. We also have oversight of legal interventions for irregular school attendance such as penalty notices as well as ensuring the necessary processes are in place to safeguard children work in entertainment and employment, in line with national guidance and legislation.
We are currently looking for a full time, permanent Business Support Officer to join our friendly, busy and fast-paced team. The post is based predominantly in the Ashford area and there may be requirement on occasion to travel to various parts of the county. The post is line managed by the KPAS Area Manager for the South Kent team.
The Business Support team provides a comprehensive level of support to the various teams within KPAS, and we are looking for someone who is proactive, resourceful, and has excellent IT skills as well as confident in dealing with professionals and members of the public. You will be required to deal with highly sensitive and confidential information, and be adaptable and resilient to adjust should priority tasks change from one moment to the next.
