Business Development Officer
Role Responsibility
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Business Development Officer to work within the Infrastructure Team. We are looking for a motivated individual who is keen to progress their experience of working in the environmental risk and waste management field.
The role will assist and support the team with the management of KCC’s network of some 19 closed landfill sites; analysing monitoring data and updating environmental risk assessment reports to ensure compliance with legislation, recommending and commissioning remedial works where necessary. The role will also assist the Environmental Infrastructure and Compliance Manager (EI&CM) in the preparation of responses to planning applications, District local plan and Government consultations as well as making requests for developer contributions to support new built infrastructure. The post holder will play an active role in enhancing and delivering key projects within both Divisional and Service Level Business plans. The role will require excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to deal with a variety of internal and external customers and stakeholders, including other teams, consultants and Councillors.
Experience of undertaking contaminated land risk assessments and making timely and appropriate recommendations to the EI&CM is essential to this role. In addition, a good working knowledge of the waste management industry along with strong analytical and interpretive skills are required.
This full-time role will be able to utilise hybrid working pattern with a mix of working from the office and from home. The office base will be Invicta House, Maidstone.
