Assistant Community Safety Officer

Role Responsibility

An opportunity has arisen to join Kent County Council’s Community Safety Team as an Assistant Community Safety Officer working primarily on Domestic Homicide Reviews (DHRs), helping to support delivery of these high-profile reviews to meet Home Office timescales. 

You will be working in a busy team, providing invaluable professional support to the DHR process. The post holder will work with partner agencies across the county coordinating input to the reviews, arranging and supporting panel meetings and learning events, whilst working closely with Independent DHR Chairs and the Head of Community Safety. 

The role is based in a multi-agency team which works alongside Kent Police and Kent Fire and Rescue Service on wider partnership strategic plans and activities relating to community safety. The role will involve a mixture of working from home and in an office, with the main office base at Invicta House, Maidstone.  The role may also involve attendance at meetings across the county both in person and virtually. We are looking for someone to work 37 hours a week and we are happy to talk flexible working.

The successful person will have good verbal and written communication skills, experience in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Forms and Teams) as well as excellent organisational skills and an ability to deal confidently with a wide range of people.
