Access to Education Officer

Role Responsibility

The Access to Education team are looking for an organised individual, with an eye for detail and sound knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation related to children missing education and school attendance orders. The post-holder will support the Local Authority (LA) to meet statutory responsibilities regarding the identification, monitoring, recording and tracking of children who are applying for a school place through the In Year Admissions process, Missing Education, Electively Home Educated and young people likely to become NEET.    

To be considered for this role, you should have sound knowledge of IT, excellent communication (both verbal and written) skills. You will understand the importance of maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality in your work and be confident in data processing, data integration and data analytics.

This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

Interviews to be held from Monday 5th August and will include skills testing.
