Access to Education Coordinator
Role Responsibility
The Access to Education Team ensure that all children and young people (CYP) receive an education as is their entitlement by law.
We are looking to recruit a passionate individual with the drive and motivation to make a difference to the lives of children & young people in Kent.
You will co-ordinate the running of the Children Missing Education (CME) and In Year Admission teams, have experience in line management, be able to inspire and motivate others and possess the resilience and tenacity required to deliver an exemplary service.
You will be responsible for supporting the Local Authority (LA) to meet statutory requirements in regard to the identification, monitoring and tracking of all Children Missing Education and supporting families with In Year Applications to schools.
With experience and knowledge of tracking and monitoring processes and systems you will be able to identify vulnerable CYP through collaborative working with partners in and outside the LA. You will have excellent communication skills enabling you and the team to foster positive relationships with schools and other partner agencies.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
A half day virtual assessment will be held on the week commencing 23rd January. A short follow-up interview will be arranged for the successful candidates.
