The Kent County Council (KCC) Finance Apprenticeship Scheme is an exciting opportunity to build a career in Finance, gaining accounting qualifications whilst developing professional skills in the workplace.
We are looking for two people who are enthusiastic and motivated, keen to learn and become integral KCC Finance staff of the future. This post requires a flexible and dedicated approach, to combine study and deliver excellent workplace performance (please see attached job description / person specification).
With a very competitive starting salary of £19,723, you will be offered a 3 year fixed term contract to:
- Achieve the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification via Level 3 and 4 Apprenticeship
- Benefit from a wide range of experience in various Finance teams across the division
- Take on more responsibility as experience progresses
- Benefit from ongoing support from a mentor, helping with gaining confidence in the workplace
Minimum requirements:
- 2 A-Levels (or equivalent)
- GCSE English and Maths
Primary location is Sessions House, Maidstone, although currently home working with potentially some office working.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
Assessment
All applications received will be reviewed. Candidates that are shortlisted will be invited to a digital assessment day in October 2021. During the digital assessment day, shortlisted candidates will be scored on completing an individual task, a group activity and interview questions from the interview panel. During the digital assessment day there will be an opportunity to meet KCC staff who have completed AAT training, as part of previous KCC Finance Apprenticeships. Shortlisted candidates will also be required to undertake psychometric assessment, on a separate date. Full details will be given to candidates that are shortlisted.
