Youth Justice Apprentice Participation Worker

Role Responsibility

An opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice to join the Youth Justice Team within Early Help and Preventative Services.

This is a great opportunity to gain a Level 3 qualification in Operational Delivery whilst working for a large, diverse, rapidly changing organisation.

As the apprentice youth justice participation worker your role will be assisting in the support and development of children and young people, at risk of involvement with and/or subject to supervision by Kent Youth Justice service.

Working across Kent, with the Youth Justice Teams and other Early Help initiatives, this role is an exciting opportunity for a young person who is looking to use their skills and experiences to help other young people. This will include supporting young people in a group or one to one setting and capturing the voice of young people to help with service design and delivery.

Salary starts at £170.50 per week, with the opportunity to increase based on performance.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

Financial support or just a simple bursary to help with travel, clothing and equipment may be available through the Kevin Lynes Apprenticeship Scheme, for those who might otherwise be unable to take up an apprenticeship opportunity.
