The Education People is owned by Kent County Council and is a one-stop shop for education services, to help you improve learning, wellbeing and children’s development. We support the full age range from early years to young adults, with over 800 products and services available specific to education needs always. Whilst this post is advertised via KCC your employment will be with The Education People.
We are seeking a Young Peoples' Participation Officer who will assist with the statutory duty to track young people to identify their education or learning status. You will assist those who are found not to be in education, employment or training into a positive destination by supporting them on the telephone, providing information on engagement opportunities and referring to other agencies where necessary. You will contact them by telephone, letter, email and social media and record the outcome of the contact on our database.
You will help maintain and develop relationships with schools, colleges and training providers to ensure the continuation of good working practices. The role will also require providing administrative support to the Careers Information Advice and Guidance support the local authority provides for schools, colleges and training providers.
You must have excellent communication skills, be organised, able to work to deadlines, be accurate in your work, work well in a team, have good IT skills and be able to empathise with young people.
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service
The post will be based in Sessions House Maidstone.
The working hours of this post are 10am to 6pm.
