Whole System Obesity Officer

Role Responsibility

The Public Health Team is seeking two individuals who are passionate about health and wellbeing to join our team and support us in reducing obesity within the county. There are two positions- One post is fixed term until 31/07/2024 and one post is fixed term 12 months.

The Whole Systems Approach to Obesity (WSO) in Kent began in 2020 and we are continuously developing the Healthy Weight Network by recruiting stakeholders across a wider sector to tackling obesity. The post holder will work closely with various public, private, voluntary and academic sector partners from across the Kent system to implement agreed upon WSO actions.

We are looking for highly skilled officers who will be responsible for coordinating and directing partner activity, developing the network, promoting the network’s activities and recruiting new stakeholders to support the network vision. This position involves working closely with the WSO team, internal and external stakeholders. The role is focused on supporting the delivery of Kent's Whole System Approach to obesity and reducing health inequalities, with a particular focus on East and West Kent. The ideal candidate should possess excellent relationship-building skills, strong organisational skills, and the ability to chair meetings and deliver presentations. Additionally, they should have strong data skills and a passion for this agenda.
