Role Responsibility

Kent Communications Video Officer

Kent Communications is the in-house communications team at Kent County Council and we’re looking for a brilliant videographer to join us. You’ll be responsible for filming the moments that matter to KCC, our staff and local residents, as well as creating videos for campaigns and events.

As the videographer at KCC, your job is to plan, shoot and edit videos that get our services noticed. You should be capable of working with existing campaign concepts and also be able to lead on proposing new ideas. You should be comfortable working in our studio or on location, as well as with talent. We’re looking for someone who knows what works on social and why and who is confident of getting this out of every shoot.

You will be responsible for:

  • Video production from concept to delivery
  • Attending planned shoots to capture impactful content 
  • Proposing original video concepts
  • Working with other creatives and content creators to write content and campaigns

Requirements

You know what’ll make a standout story or an intriguing Facebook post.

You can think big with small budgets.

You can adapt your craft and your thinking to suit any brief and budget.

You love to collaborate, both with your team members and with colleagues working across our services.

You have

  • Strong camera, lighting, sound recording, and editing skills
  • Skills to create engaging digital graphics and animations
  • Excellent video production experience for digital channels including social media
  • Experience working with Adobe Premier Pro, and Creative Cloud
  • A willingness to experiment
  • Proven experience of managing relationships particularly in front of camera
  • Lots of enthusiasm and good ideas 
  • Experience working with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier and Adobe apps.
  • Post holder must be able to travel around a wide geographic area in a timely and flexible manner as required
