Ukraine Refugee Resettlement Area Coordinator

Fixed term: Until 31 March 2024
Councils have a critical role to play in the success of the Homes for Ukraine scheme and are uniquely placed to support local communities to offer Ukrainians the warmest possible welcome to the UK.
Guests will be able to live and work in the UK for up to three years and access housing, benefits, healthcare, employment, and other services.
This role will be required to lead and line manage a local Resettlement team and working closely with District and Borough Councils to identify sustainable accommodation options for all the Ukrainian guests.
We require someone with a strong understanding of working for Local Government, and is able to act as a conduit to direct advice and support to Ukrainian refugees being resettled in Kent and their host families.
You must be able to recognise safeguarding concerns, liaise with key stakeholders to provide, information, advice, advocacy and guidance across a range of issues, including (but not limited to) welfare benefits, housing, health and wellbeing services, education, English language provision and employment.
You will be proactive and solutions focused with the ability to solve complex problems faced by families and individuals.
Excellent communication and IT skills are essential as the role requires the postholder to be able to work with the families, as well as a variety of KCC departments and partner organisations.
This role will require you to travel in a timely way a to attend planned and unplanned visits. When you are not out in the community you can work from a KCC office or at home.
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
This role is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
Interviews are scheduled to take place week commencing 27th February 2023 , although this is subject to change.
