Tree Technician

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Tree Technician within the Highways & Transportation Section’s Soft Landscape Team. This is a key role to support both the Arboriculture and Landscape elements of the team, with the opportunity for training to progress to Tree Inspector. We will consider recent graduates seeking to establish themselves within the industry.

This technical role will cover all aspects of highway related tree management including programmed tree planting and ad-hoc reactive site visits to meet customer demand. The role will be based across the whole of Kent. The ability to travel independently and work across the entire county will be a pre-requisite.

The role involves finance administration including works ordering, payment applications and invoice processing for which knowledge of the iProcurement system and Oracle would be beneficial. You will also need to demonstrate good computer literacy skills and a good understanding of data capture hardware in the field. Initial training will be provided on all our processes as well as on-going training in tree related subjects throughout the year.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description and Person Specification. 

This is a Full Time role (37 hours per week Monday to Friday)
