Role Responsibility
An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to play a key role within the Highways, Transportation & Waste Section’s Soft Landscape Team. This technical role is fundamental in supporting the Soft Landscape Team in maintaining a high level of contract management and customer satisfaction.
The role of Tree Officer will cover all aspects of highway related tree management including contract management, monitoring and specifying works to address highway safety issues and programmed maintenance.
You will have a strong background in arboriculture and experience of applying this in practical situations. You will also have been involved in managing tree contractors within a Local Authority framework, contract monitoring and reporting on performance data.
You will need to demonstrate good computer literacy skills and the use of data capture hardware in the field. You will need knowledge and experience of Confirm or a similar customer enquiry module.
The organisation prides itself on its gold standard level of customer care. You will be instrumental in delivering this through the provision of high-quality front line soft landscape support. The successful candidate will need to be able to work both independently and as part of a wider team. Advanced supervisory, technical and communication skills will be required to enable the post holder to deal appropriately with customers, councillors, contractors, colleagues and wide- ranging internal and external stakeholders.
One full time position is available. It is essential that the candidate has the ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
