Role Responsibility

An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Arboricultural Professional to play a key role within the Highways & Transportation’s Soft Landscape Team.

This role is fundamental in supporting the audit and maintenance of Kent’s 500,000 plus highway trees. Working with a diverse tree demographic this role will allow the post holder to directly influence and shape the future treescape of Kent through our ongoing maintenance programs and urban tree planting schemes.

The role of Tree Inspector will cover all aspects of highway tree management, including surveying street trees, specifying, and overseeing the planting of new trees, detailing maintenance works, scheduling of programmed maintenance, supervision of arboricultural contractors and providing excellent customer service.

You will have a strong background in either technical or practical arboriculture and experience of applying this knowledge in a diverse range of situations, you may have experience within a Local Authority environment.

Training will be provided to the successful applicant on all of our processes, in addition to a commitment to provide ongoing training and supported continuous professional development in arboriculture and related subjects.

This role is subject to holding a Full UK Driving Licence – The Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments so whilst this job requires the jobholder to drive your application will still be considered if you are unable to drive due to a disability.

The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
