Role Responsibility

An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to play a key role within the Highways & Transportation Section’s Soft Landscape Team. This technical inspection role will cover all aspects of highway related tree management including programmed tree asset inspections and ad-hoc reactive site visits to meet customer demand and emergency situations. The role will be based in East/West Kent. However, the ability to travel independently and work across the entire county will be a pre-requisite. 

The organisation prides itself on its gold standard level of customer care and the successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering this through the provision of high-quality front line arboricultural services. 

You will be suitably experienced in highway tree inspections able to specify, schedule and supervise tree works and poses the ability to communicate effectively across a multitude of stakeholders. We will also consider a recent graduate seeking to establish themselves within the industry. A good understanding of tree related legislation will be required, and you will need to demonstrate good computer literacy skills including experience of mapping systems and the use of data capture hardware in the field.

The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is essential.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
