Transport and Development Planner

Role Responsibility

An opportunity has arisen for a Transport and Development Planner in the East Kent Transport and Development team.  This is a full time KR8-9 position.  Our base is at the highway office in Ashford and you will be supported to work flexibly.  The contract is for 1 year and could be the first step in a career with Transport and Development Planning.

Our team is at the forefront of guiding the way in which new developments can come forward to deliver jobs and housing as part of our sustainable growth ambition for Kent.  In this role you will learn how to assess the transport aspects of planning applications in accordance with design standards and other guidance, you will provide advice on their acceptability and recommend measures or funding that would be needed to mitigate their impact and ensure we create great places for people to live and work.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated, articulate and numerate person where you will be trained and supported by the team to enable you to excel. 

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
