Role Responsibility

Kent is an exciting and rewarding place to work.  We are one of the biggest county councils, serving a population of over a million people, with key high speed rail and strategic road links at the gateway to Europe.  Over the next fifteen years in excess of 100,000 homes are planned, as well as commercial developments, all of which require associated facilities and transport infrastructure to be provided, whilst protecting our environment.

An opportunity has arisen to join the West Kent Transport & Development team as a Transport & Development Planner, primarily covering Maidstone and Tonbridge & Malling districts. This is a permanent position at grade KR8/9 (£28,995 to £37,188) and you will be supported to work flexibly including from home and KCC offices across Kent.

We are looking for a motivated, articulate and numerate person with excellent writing skills who can advise on transport aspects of planning applications, who can help devise schemes and secure their funding and co-ordinate their delivery through a range of partners.

This is a career grade role suiting someone with some relevant experience for the KR9 grade or for a graduate/ inexperienced candidate with the right skill set for the KR8 grade and you will be trained and supported to excel in your role and progress through the team.
