Role Responsibility

Transport Planner (KR9) – Network Innovations Team - Transportation

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join the Network Innovations Team working on a range of projects but primarily to develop and deliver Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure across the county.

The role will support the Network Innovations Manager to identify industry trends, create and run projects that can lead to a more efficient, cleaner transport network in Kent. The small team operate under the Traffic Manager and aim to look ahead at the fast paced and ever changing world of innovations on the highways.

The role will work closely with other members of the Traffic Management Team, as well as other highway teams, and seek funding opportunities to enable delivery of solutions/mitigations that will enable positive change on Kent’s network.   

Past experience of Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure is not essential but the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm and passion for clean travel, technology and innovation.

This full-time role will be able to utilise hybrid working with a mix of working from the office and from home. The office base would be Kroner House, Ashford or Aylesford Highway Depot, which can be agreed with the successful candidate.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
