Technical Services Manager

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has opened for a Technical Services Manager to work within the Kent County Council (KCC) Property and Facilities Management Team.  It is a full time role with hybrid working arrangements.

As a Technical Services Manager you will direct, manage, and provide advice on behalf of KCC Property and Facilities Management on all aspects of building services, monitoring the performance of the FM contractors to ensure statutory compliance obligations are met and works are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner.

You will be required to support the Area Facilities Manager, Contract Officers, and Project Managers by providing technical support to all stages of a project lifecycle including scoping and specifications, procurement and tender review, work plan reviews, technical reporting and management data, checking physical work and invoice substantiation and verification.

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated individual with excellent people, communication, customer service and problem-solving skills. A big part of the role will involve prioritising and organising your workload to meet tight deadlines in a face paced work environment.  You will be required to familiarise yourself with the KCC property portfolio often visiting sites to assess the status of compliance, agree proposed works and sign off on completed works.

You will be expected to work closely with the main FM providers, preferred KCC contractors as well as KCC colleagues within Property and Facilities management and the wider organisation.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
