Role Responsibility

Kent Scientific Services are seeking a self-motivated, engaged and attentive individual to join their calibration section, to undertake a wide range of calibration activity. Our work includes the calibration of weights, scales, thermometers, and linear and volume equipment, a substantial portion of which is accredited by UKAS. Whilst part of a small team, a lot of our work is done alone, so your ability to maintain focus and deliver consistent results are important.

The pace is high in the calibration section, with a substantial volume of work for a wide range of clients, and the ability to meet tight deadlines is essential. Attention to detail is equally important, both to meet client’s needs, to ensure we work to accredited standard procedures and to maintain high quality output.

Kent Scientific Services provides a range of other services, with a Public Analyst and a Toxicology laboratory on site, both of which the calibration section support, ensuring that a range of their equipment is within specification as well.

The majority of our work is done in the laboratory, but we do also visit clients’ sites, which can take us across the south east and the home counties, and involves the occasional overnight stay. The ability to communicate clearly with client’s is essential, to ensure we understand their requirements and to explain outcomes.

If you have the knowledge, skills and aptitude to make a positive contribution to our work, we look forward to considering your application.
